What does Specialunik AB do?
I help make the odd a little more real by helping my clients develop unique physical objects or a smaller series. It can be anything from a sign for a trade show or a mock-up for a screening or stage props for a scene. I have helped artists, companies and research labs to produce what has only existed as a thought to materialize in reality, something you can touch, something that is subjectively genuine and leaves no doubt about appearance.
It is a collaboration between us, I continuously listen to what the need is and help to find the most effective solution to design and manufacture what is needed.
Who is Specialunik?
Specialunik AB is a one-man company that operates in Gothenburg and is run by Henrik Hörlin who has 20+ years of product development and practical experience of physical development and digital aids. I have a broad background in most things in manufacturing such as:
- Rapid prototyping with common methods such as 3D printing, laser cutting, casting and vacuum forming etc.
- University-educated interaction designer and has worked as a teacher in the subject
- Long workshop experience with machines and hand tools
- Broad material knowledge and experience of many materials, extra deep knowledge in injection molded plastic
- Digital design engineering with CAD / CGI and 3D scanning, for prototyping or mass production.
- Mock-ups and display material
- Event planning and rigging for events
- Reductive machining in mechanical workshop
